Post BUSHFIRES TOO CLOSE TO HOME
well hello havent been on here for a few months. Just wanted to say my heart goes out to my friends families who have perished in this summers bushfires in kinglake. Kinglake is a beutiful place thats just down the road to me and it has been a real shock after what has happened. as we know it now the death toll around my state has reached over 180. which is really bad considering the worst toll was 65 back in what we called ash wednesday. We as a community have had lots of support and our nation has managed to raise over 70 million australian dollars in 3 days from donations alone. If theres one thing us aussies are good at, its looking after eachother and our mates.

I dont know if the rest of the world has seen this terrifying tragedy as we arent a popular township or community on a world stage. But it would be very helpful and greatful of everybody in our community any contrabution that can be made. even if its $5

here is a link where you can make a donation

Do not feel obliged but just try and remember the hell on earth that has happened so close to home its unbelievable.

My auntie and uncle had 30 mins notice b4 the fire got to there house. My auntie left while my uncle stayed to fight the fires with a neighbour. They ended up beeing overcome by the heat so they had to flee. Might i add that the temp of the day was 46.4 degrees celcius. with winds traveling over 100kmh. Which makes fire travel just as fast.

It took my uncle 5 hours to find a way out. If it wasnt for his mates driving they would have died. They couldnt even touch the doors of the 4x4 they were so hot. Whilst all around them they heard people screaming and seeying their neighbours charred bodies in burnt out cars and homes. If this isnt Hell on earth i dont what is.

There has been so much support. the fire brigade has been working tirelessly for days. and as i speak there are still over 30 fires burning uncontrolably. The army has been deployed to help and we have firefighters from new zealand and america coming to help out aswell.

Even mates i hold dear have lost there lives in these fire trying to fight them. My mother and father are helping with sorting out clothing and bedding as the families who have survived have nothing but the clothes on there backs. Everybody is doing there part. now the question is Can you help aswell?

I wish everyone a safe one, and god bless you all.
